 Why I Created This Kit.

 

I remember feeling so alone when that urge to binge hit. I’d read social media posts telling me that the solution was to go for a walk or read a book, but that never worked. I’d dutifully put on my shoes and walk around to nowhere, planning what I was going to binge on when I got home and sometimes even stopping at the shop to get supplies. Or I’d be ‘reading’ a book and realise I hadn’t taken in any of the last two pages. My mind would be fighting a battle between imagining opening the cupboard and grabbing the food I really wanted to binge on, and telling myself that I shouldn’t because I’d feel so guilty if I did. 


The urge to binge always won out. I felt like a failure - like there was definitely something wrong with me. 


What I needed in that moment was someone to understand what I was going through. Someone to support me without judgment, to help me see other possibilities that might actually work for me - not conflicting advice that left me feeling more stuck.
